Interstate Traffic at a Standstill Near Lacey; Travelers Advised to Avoid the Area Posted Friday, November 18, 2022 3:09 pm By The Chronicle staff The Washington State Patrol (WSP) has closed northbound and southbound lanes of Interstate 5 near Martin Way East in Lacey as troopers stand off with a pedestrian who hijacked and subsequently rolled a semi-truck. WSP announced the southbound closure just after 2 p.m. on Friday and made the decision to close the northbound lanes about 40 minutes later out of an abundance of caution, according to Trooper Robert Reyer.
